Professional Background

My name is Tarica Riley, and I am the owner of Faith Moves Mountains Counseling and Therapy PLLC. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor who has worked with people of all ages to overcome life obstacles. I earned my Bachelor's and my Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I am a professional member of the National Association of Social Workers and the American Association of Christian Counselors. When I am not providing counseling/therapy services, you can find me enjoying time with friends and family, crafting with my Cricuit, hiking and camping.

Faith Perspective

Faith is integral to the way I provide counseling/therapy services. I believe that Jesus was born of a virgin birth, died on the cross for my sins and rose on the third day to provide the only way for salvation. I believe He is alive in heaven today preparing a place for us. He sent the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us throughout our days. God has shown Himself to be such a loving Father who never leaves, even in the hard times.

Testimony

My waIk with Christ began at a young age when I accepted Jesus as the Lord and Savior of my life.  In my teenage and early adult years, I turned away from my faith and tried to walk through life alone. God being the good Father that He is, never stopped pursuing me. I came to a point where I was tired of everything feeling empty no matter what I did. I made a decision to surrender my life to Christ fully and completly, and I have not turned back since.

Therapeutic Approach and Experience

I strive to create a welcoming, emotionally supportive, safe and non-judgmental therapeutic environment for you to create, prioritize and achieve your mental, emotional and spiritual goals. I am passionate about helping people return to/incorporate their faith in counseling and re-ignite their passion for Jesus. My approach to counseling/therapy is collaborative and incorporates spiritual disciplines (Bible reading, devotions, prayer, etc.) as you are comfortable. I have experience providing individual and group counseling in a variety of areas including grief/loss, anxiety, depression, anger management, ADHD support, self-esteem, work/life harmony, career conflicts, etc. In addition, I have served in various ministry capacities including nursery, kid's ministry, teen ministry, young adults and women's ministry.
